| 題目: What Taipei City Will Be Like When It Is Completely Internationalized. | |||
|
Taipei is the largest city in Taiwan. It contains the
most foreigners here in Taiwan. If you walk on the streets of Taipei,
you will see people from the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Europe,
and even from the nations of Africa! Taipei is already an internationalized
city in some ways but as for what it will be like when it's "completely"
internationalized, here is what I have to say about it.
I believe what Taipei is most famous for is its trade. Taipei would be like the mid-way stop for business people. Business people would have to stop in Taipei to get the most information from other countries. People from other nations around the world will enjoy doing business here which will bring up our economy. Then, Taipei would be like New York with its own Wall Street . We would have exihibitions of other cultures all the time. You can get to know the different races on earth by taking the citybus. The students in Taipei can go visit museums and exhibitions as an outdoor activities instead of sitting in classrooms studying books that cannot talk. Studens can gain a lot more knowledge of other cultures, know their stories, and not be prejudice because of a person's nationality. We will also have cross cultural studies. Thus, not only will we know other nations but other nations would get to know us too. They will know what a great city Taipei actually is. We will also have exchange students from other countries. As for the arts, performers from around the world will be delighted to come to perform. We can see Beijing opera, Japanese opera, Russian ballet, listen to the enchanting melodies of old folksongs from Europe and so on. We might even have Mexican guitar players and Zimbabwae drumers. The music you hear in Taipei would definitely not only be the popular pop songs but mixed with all sorts of interesting rhythms and instruments. When Taipei is completely internationalized, its traffic will also be comletely smooth, with no knots in it. We don't want anyone to say, "Oh, yeah! Taipei , I know that place. It has great museums, wonderful music, businessman's paradise, but it seems as if you were stuck in traffic all the time. Then you will be late for meetings and concerts." All the trams will be done. It will take you wherever you want to go in less than ten minutes. There will be fewer cars on the road and more buses. You can go anywhere, anytime. Taipei will also have sister cities. The mayors from the other cities can come and visit and give us suggestions. We will also hold meetings for researchers on how to make Taipei a better place. It seems to me that Taipei will be a fantasic place to live in when it's completely internationalized. I simply can't wait for the colorful, peaceful Taipei that the Taipei now is going to be. |
