| 題目:What Taipei City Will Be Like When It Is Completely Internationalized? | |||
|
Taipei City, a place where I call home. Taipei has come
a long way, from a small city on a mountainous island to one of the
most industrial cities in all of Asia. With the efforts of our hard-working
citizens, we have managed to transform Taipei into a modern and prosperous
city. If we keep up the good work, Taipei will be an international city,
like that of New York and London, in no time. But as with anything else,
there are both good and bad aspects to this, and neither should be overlooked
on our way to success .
When Taipei is completely internationalized, no doubt, our lives will benefit greatly from it. There will be cutting edge information and state-of-the-art technology, which will never cease to amaze us, at our fingertips. Our eyes will be opened to the magnificent world with all its wonders and charms. We will come in contact with things beyond our imagination, things we have never seen or even heard of before. Life will definitely be more fun and colorful once Taipei is completely internationalized. While we may benefit a great deal, we can just as easily lose much. We are at risk of being brainwashed with all the dazzle and shimmer of modern innovations. In these grim times, weighed down with trepidation and disquietude from the hustle and bustle of an international city, people tend to lose their sense of moral conduct. People become more selfish and self-absorbed, and care about nothing but themselves. This leads to crimes and other social problems. Our values and morals of the past will be in jeapordy as a result of an international Taipei. Amid the busy city of Taipei, with its rapid development and intense competition, is a dilemma which we must face. For every gain there will be a loss, we must decide what is worth sacrificing and what is not. One immutable fact is that it is pivotal for us to hold on to the virtues and ethics which have made us into who we are today. It is vital that we are not lost in the glitz and glamour of internationalism. While keeping the world in perspective, we must discern right from wrong. Only then can we truly enjoy the sweet fruits of an international city . Taipei will inevitably turn into an international city, whether this will be for the better or for the worse is up to us. What Taipei City will be like when it is completely internationalized are in our hands. We, as citizens of Taiperi, should take it resolutely upon ourselves, as our duty and responsibility, to make sure that love and peace prevails no matter what . |
