Dear Sirs:
I am a senior student in Ta-tung High School. I am applying for your
department. In this letter, I want to introduce myself and help you
know about my interests and personality.
I have many interests, including reading, baking and piano playing.
Reading helps me broaden my horizons and baking brings me a great sense
of achievement, especially when I share my cookies or cakes with my
friends. When I feel sad or frustrated, the first thing I want to do
is to play the piano. I have played the piano since I was seven years
old. In the beginning, I have no patience to sit in front of the piano.
Little by little, I had greater interest in playing it because of the
beautiful melodies. Sometimes my piano teacher would lend me classical
music records. She wanted me to listen to them and imitate the rhythm.
I also remember that when I performed well, she would give me a sticker.
When I collected ten, she would give me a small present. By doing so,
she encouraged my love for music.
As for my personality, I am out-going, kind and patient. I always get
along well with others. I especially like to play with children. I consider
the education of children very important and music plays a vital role
in education. Well goes a saying, " Children who learn music will never
go astray." So, if I can be a music teacher, I will apply what I have
learned to educating my students instead of just teaching them to sing
Do Re Mi. I am confident that I will be a good elementary school teacher.
I hope I will be fortunate enough to be admitted to your department.

Department of History
National Taiwan University
No. 32 Roosevelt Road
Dear Sirs:
I study in Ta-tung Senior High School. I will briefly introduce my interests
and personality to you. I hope that you will realize me more after reviewing
my application.
I am an enthusiastic and curious person. I always take an active attitude
toward everything. I love learning because it is the best way to broaden
our horizons. History is my favorite subject in high school, for my
teacher has taught us in an interesting way. When I take history lessons,
I never feel bored. Gradually I develop my taste for history. I also
have interest in historic people, such as Shakespeare, who is a talented
playwright. His great books play an important role in the history of
England. The more I study history, the more interested I feel in it.
At my leisure, I like reading books and seeing movies, especially those
about history. Although history is what happened in the past, yet it
repeats itself and it tells us not to make the same mistakes. We can
always learn a lot of experience from it. I want to be a history teacher
as my career. I hope that you can give me a chance to realize my ideal.

Dear Sirs:
I am a student in Ta-tung Senior High School. I am applying for your
Department of Politics. I sincerely hope that I can pass this competition
after your reviewing my qualifications and self-introduction about my
interests and personality. I am a person with various interests. I am
fond of reading, especially those about history and literature. From
them, I understand more ancient experiences and wisdom. They also bring
out my love for politics. Moreover, I enjoy travelling and taking exercise
a lot because they can broaden my horizons and keep myself healthy.
During the three years of my high school life, I took part in several
extracurricular activities. Among them, I liked the Culture Studying
Club and English Studying Club most. In these two clubs, I gained a
lot of knowledge and improved my speaking ability. More importantly,
I have learned how to solve problems by cooperating with others.
I am not only optimistic, active but also persevering. I always set
up a goal and exert myself to reach it. I believe that I will be an
excellent student of the Department of Politics if I have the opportunity
to enter your department.

I am a student in Ta-tung Senior High School. I am very glad to introduce
to you my interests, personality, and ambition.
I have various interests and I am not afraid of trying anything new.
Besides textbooks, I am always learning new things in different fields.

With the advance of industry and business, financial management becomes
more and more important. Since I come from a family with a business
